The recent collapse of Silicon Valley Bank has put the spotlight on bank failures. In this blog post, we will take a at some of the trends over the last 20 years.  As you can see in the Tableau Public file below the financial crisis of the late 2000’s was massive difference from what we’re seeing today in terms of bank failures.  Visualizations can help with analyzing patterns by making it easier to see and understand the data. When data is presented in a visual format, it can be easier to spot trends, outliers, and other patterns. This can be helpful for identifying problems, making predictions, and taking action. In Q3 of 2009 there were over 50 bank failures, but in Q1 of 2023 there were 2, and both of those were heavily concentrated in crypto organizations.
